New features, improvements, and fixes shipped to GameChrono.
The "Newest" tab on Play Orders now sorts by when a play order was added to GameChrono, so the franchises we've just charted show up at the top — a perfect companion to the "Updated" tab.
Games that already belong to a community play order no longer appear as unclaimed on Contribute, so you won't start a duplicate of a franchise that's already here. Each section also stays topped up with fresh games to claim as the catalog grows.
Sixteen franchises now have full community play orders, including Silent Hill, Call of Duty, Yakuza, Metroid, NieR, Tomb Raider, Dragon Age, Diablo, Dead Space, Mafia, and Wolfenstein — plus cult favorites like Trails, Suikoden, Shenmue, Deus Ex, and Ace Attorney.
Bring your list in from anywhere. Paste games from your notes or a spreadsheet and GameChrono matches them to the catalog — pick a status for each and import them all at once. Titles we don't have yet are looked up on IGDB and tracked as standalone games you can turn into a full franchise later.
You can now track any game on its own, even before it has a community play order. Standalone games show in your by-game library under "Not in a franchise yet," with a one-tap prompt to create a franchise for them later.
Adding a franchise to your library now adds each of its games to your by-game tracker as Plan to Play, so it fills in as you go. Removing a franchise clears the untouched ones while keeping anything you've already played.
GameChrono now works great on smaller screens. A floating bottom navigation bar replaces the desktop top bar on phones and tablets, and My Library lays your games out as tap-friendly cards instead of a wide table.
Franchise and game cards now lead with cover art for a more visual browse, with a clearer "Unclaimed" badge marking games that still need a play order.
The two main browse tabs have new names that say what they're for. Franchises is now Play Orders (/play-orders) — browse every franchise's community play order. Discover is now Contribute (/contribute) — find unclaimed games, claim one, and seed its Chronological Order. Old links redirect automatically.
Renamed core concepts across the site. Each franchise's canonical play order (formerly the master order) is now the Chronological Order. User-curated alternative orders (formerly Chronicles) are now Playlists, with a new Release Order playlist type. The browse tab (formerly Chronicles) is now Franchises, at /franchises.
The platform is live with franchise pages, community play orders, game tracking, user profiles, and the Aura reputation system. Game data provided by IGDB.
